Gemtech has been hard at work developing new and interesting suppressor technologies for firearms owners. Last year, we saw Gemtech release an entire upper for the M&P 15-22 and now Gemtech is following that up with the release of the new MIST-22V signature suppression system for the Smith & Wesson SW22 Victory pistol. This system allows you to suppress your SW22 Victory while keeping the entire package more compact than with a traditional thread-on suppressor.

Due to it’s short (3 inch) barrel length, all 22LR ammunition with a factory listed velocity of 1,600 feet per second or less will deliver subsonic performance. G-CORE® Technology – Patented Stainless Steel G-CORE® design is durable, easy to clean, and light weight. Reliability – MIST-22®V delivers the same accuracy, and reliability with a wide range of 22LR ammunition that customers have come to expect from the SW22 Victory® design.

Silent by Design – The Gemtech® MIST-22®V is the ultimate signature suppression system designed for use on the SW22 Victory® pistol. The MIST-22®V replaces the standard barrel with a barrel/suppressor combo, designed to provide superb suppression in a compact package.

The New MIST-22V Signature Suppression System for the SW22 Victory

Short barreled subsonic .22LR pistols don’t really have a lot of use cases outside of casual backyard plinking or discreet squirrel removal but I would really like to try one of these out given the chance. What is really cool is that this is a simple barrel swap once all is said and done and since the frame of the SW22 Victory is the serialized component, you’ll be able to freely swap between your MIST-22V and your factory barrel without the need for an additional tax stamp.

I’d like to hear your guy’s thoughts on this new offering from Gemtech for the SW22 Victory. Is this priced where you would consider buying it or is the NFA leap for some cheap fun plinking still a bridge too far for you? Let us know down in the comments!
